Xerox & Theme Image

This here is my actuall Xerox Image. I actually had alot of fun with this project and if i had the time would have loved to explore this techinque a little more. But due to my lack of any work ethis of course i have no time to make another. What you would do to get this image is you would take a normall image and make a 5x7, or whatever you want the size of your image to be, and you go make a xerox of the image. then you would simply just put the xerox over the paper and give it the appropriate amount of click and there you have it! I didnt really face any struggles with this project other then, i shot the best theme roll of my life and then it all got ruined cause im RETARDED. so this was really the only image that wasn't ruined so i went with it. i like this image too because it has kindof two subjects. also not all of billys face is revealed so it leaves a sort of misterious shadow where his noes is. This image fits my theme because it has light an shadow....

This was a theme image. I had no struggles. I used thirds rule. It has light and shadow.

Painting

This assignment is called.....drawing and painting on your theme image! all we really had to do was that we would take our straight theme image and we would have to paint over it with acrylic paints so that it would cover up all that was behind it. This was really difficult for me because i had never painted before. But after you, Ms. Towne, showed me how to paint in like 1 minute i was a master. Sooo ya i dont really know what else to say about this other then it was actually really fun but it took a very long time but it was worth it. i'll probably do this again for a final project if we can like pick themes or something. soooo joe out.

Easle Distortion

This assignment is called Easle Distortion. What this assignment was about is you would take a straight image put it in the negative carrier just like normall but when you took the PAAAPPERR to print the image onto it you would distort the paper. In my image you cant really know how much someone distorts an image but let me just tell you i distorted mine a hell of a lot. I didnt really face any serious struggles when making this image except sometime i would tend to fall asleep due to the fact that this assignment was so boring. I cant lie though the images do look kindof cool but still. I didnt realy use any compositional device, well i guess you could say central subject but i dont know. I just wanted to use an image that had alot of straight lines in it so that it would look tight. I do understand that the image is very blurry but i liked it like that. trust me i made many non blurry ones but this image was distorted so well i had to roll with it.

Theme Image

This assignment was about Light and Shadow for me becuase that is what i decided that that was what i was going to do for my theme as you should have already read. But i did not use any techniques on this image because this was just a straight image. duh. Some struggle i faced with this image tho is that right at the bottom of the picture where the mask is it is very dark for some reason. maybe a light leak, but because of that i had to dodge and burn my image for like pretty much the whole time. it sucked. I guess you could say i used leading lines to a main subject cause i have like the line of the lamp leading to the mask. its just a very interesting image. This image fits my theme becuase i set it up so that there was a very intense light coming from above and i placed white t-shirts in the background so that when there was say a crease in the shirt there would be heavy shadow. But i made this image before i decided to focus on more things that society would concider ugly so this will probably be my only "beautiful" image that you will see other then my easle distortion that i will post later. thank you! and good night.

Theme Statement

This semester i've decided to focus my work on light and shadow. The reason i have decided to focus on this subject is not only because it's a very broad topic that any picture could pretty much apply to, but it could also be a very difficult subject to focus on. Especially if you are trying to tell a story in your pictures. Also this semester i hope that i can not do, not to put these techniques down Ms. Towne but, stupid techniques like clear material or those kind of things. but i would like to experiment in such things that are fun to me like sabattiering and things like that, that i can have fun with. Although i realize that these techniques may be hard to do when my theme is light and shadow, i will truely try my best Ms. Towne.
